A spiral wound gasket is a type of semi-metallic gasket designed for high-pressure and high-temperature applications. It consists of a spirally wound metal strip combined with a non-metallic filler material, providing excellent sealing performance in industrial environments.

  Components

Spiral wound gaskets typically include three main components :

  • Outer Ring (Guide Ring) : Centers the gasket within the flange joint
  • Inner Ring : Prevents buckling and ensures structural integrity
  • Sealing Element : Made of stainless steel, Monel, or other alloys, combined with graphite or PTFE fillers
